What we're building

Made for how catering orders work

Catering is planned work. Here's what founding restaurants can expect when we open.

  • Orders sized ahead

Each order comes with a headcount and a date, so you can plan prep and staffing. A half pan of an entrée typically serves about 8 to 12 people and a full pan about 16 to 24. You confirm the exact portions.

  • You confirm each order

Every order waits for you to accept it before it is final.

  • Your menu

Buyers order from the catering menu you already make, at the sizes you already sell.

  • Your own customers at 5%

Share your own ordering link with the offices you already cater for. Orders through it are charged 5% commission plus the 2.5% card fee.

POS integrations

Where integrations stand

No integration is live yet. Here's the status of each one as of Oct 7, 2026.

  • Checkmate

    In development

Will send Feed the Room orders to your POS and update your menu here when you change it in Checkmate.

For restaurants that already use Checkmate.

  • Olo

    Planned

Will let restaurant brands on Olo receive Feed the Room orders through Olo.

For brands that use Olo. Each brand turns the connection on itself.

  • SpeedLine

    Planned (reachable via Checkmate)

SpeedLine stores that use Checkmate should be able to connect through our Checkmate integration once it ships.

For restaurants on SpeedLine. A direct SpeedLine connection comes later.

Questions

Restaurant questions

What counts as a direct order?

A direct order comes from one of your own customers through your own ordering link. Direct orders are charged 5% commission. Orders from buyers who find you on Feed the Room are marketplace orders, charged 10%. The flat 2.5% card processing fee applies to both.

What is the card processing fee?

It is a flat 2.5% on every order, whether the order came through the marketplace or from your own customers. It covers the cost of taking card payments.

How did you calculate the comparison?

We applied each side's rates to the same food subtotal, with no delivery fee, tax or tip. ezCater's figures are its published standard rates from ezCater partner help center, "Selling fees & payouts", accessed Oct 7, 2026. Individual agreements may differ. ezCater's payment fee also applies to tax, and its commission also applies to the customer-facing delivery fee, so real totals vary. The dollar figures are our own illustrative math, not figures ezCater publishes.

Do I need a POS integration to join?

No. Any restaurant can join the founding list, whatever POS you use. Tell us which one you have so we can plan. No integration is live yet. Checkmate is in development. Olo and SpeedLine are planned.
